The Level 5 Social Enterprise Adviser qualification is designed for experienced advisers, consultants, and support professionals who want to deepen their judgement, strengthen their practice, and build credibility in a complex and fast-evolving sector. This course goes beyond tools and templates, focusing on how to diagnose real needs, navigate complexity, and support social enterprises to make sound, ethical decisions at every stage of their journey.
“I was really nervous to start with, but it was really helpful to have someone leading each step to trialling my idea. The seed funding also really helped to test without any personal risk. I didn’t need insurance or anything to just give it a go. It was brilliant”

Who is the Level 5 Social Enterprise Adviser Qualification for?
This qualification is for people already advising or supporting social enterprises - including advisers, consultants, development workers, funders, and support professionals. It’s built for those with experience who want to sharpen their thinking, strengthen their professional boundaries, and develop a robust, evidence-based advisory practice.
You’ll benefit most if you’re already working in or alongside the social enterprise sector and want to improve the quality, consistency, and impact of your support.
What will you learn?
Through applied learning and real-world scenarios, this qualification will help you:
Develop the judgement required to advise social enterprises across models, impact, governance, income, and sustainability
Diagnose what a social enterprise actually needs, not just what it asks for
Apply advisory tools and communication techniques that build trust and support better decision-making
Co-create realistic, ethical action plans while maintaining professional boundaries
Build a professional portfolio evidencing responsible, effective advisory practice
This is about becoming a better adviser - not just a more informed one.
